Dr. Balaji Gopalan serves as the Chairman and Managing Trustee of CARE TO ACTION on an honorary basis. With approximately 30 years of experience in the engineering industry, he has been associated with Carraro India since September 1, 1998, and currently holds the position of Managing Director. Dr. Gopalan earned his doctorate in Human Resource Management from the University of Pune. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is actively involved in community initiatives, focusing on corporate social responsibility, employment of rural women, and skill development programs aimed at enhancing the employability of rural youth.
Dr. Murali Krishna Chilukoti serves as a Trustee of CARE TO ACTION on an honorary basis and is the Chairman of Green India Trust (GIT), an organization he founded in 2008 alongside like-minded individuals committed to environmental conservation and sustainable development. Professionally, Dr. Murali Krishna is an orthopedic surgeon and an active member of various management associations and committees. His dedication to enhancing biodiversity in Nellore District has earned him several awards, reflecting his significant contributions to environmental preservation and community development.
Professor R. R Prasad serves as a Trustee of CARE TO ACTION. He is a retired Professor and former Head at the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) in Hyderabad, India, where he dedicated over 30 years to research and training in rural and tribal development. He holds a Doctorate in Tribal Studies and is a trained Social/Cultural Anthropologist. His areas of expertise include Sustainable Development, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Social Mobilization, Social Sector Development, Social Equity and Justice, the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act (PESA) of 1996, Social Audit, Mainstreaming Disadvantaged Sections of Society, Rural and Tribal Development, Participatory Planning, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Rights-based Development.
Advocate Jayavardhan Pylla serves as an honorary Trustee of CARE TO ACTION. He is a law graduate with over 20 years of experience, specializing in drafting domestic and international contracts, intellectual property rights, real estate, trusts, corporate governance, litigation, compliance, and arbitration. He began his legal career practicing at the High Court of Andhra Pradesh for five years before collaborating with multinational corporations and companies in the information technology and pharmaceutical sectors, including Solix Technologies, DQ Entertainment (International) Private Limited, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Private Limited, Medlife International Private Limited (now PharmEasy), and Cipla Limited. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed significant transactions involving joint ventures, asset acquisitions, development agreements, intellectual property rights assignments, litigation, arbitration, and mergers and acquisitions.
Ms. Kalamani is a dedicated development professional with over three decades of experience advocating for the rights of women, children, and marginalized communities, and promoting gender equality, decentralized governance, poverty eradication, sustainable livelihoods, and climate-resilient farming. She holds a postgraduate degree in Economics and an M.Phil. in Micro Level Planning (University Topper). Beginning her career in academia, she transitioned to the development sector as a Socio-Economist, for Netherlands-aided projects under the Royal Netherlands Embassy. She then dedicated 13 years to the Centre for World Solidarity, followed by a role as Programme Officer for South Asia at Inter Church Cooperation (ICCO), Netherlands, based in New Delhi. She later served as Executive Director at APMAS and continues to contribute as a Lead Consultant. Ms. Kalamani is also empanelled as a National Resource Person on Gender by the National Institute for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) for the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM). Throughout her career, she has conducted numerous evaluations, studies, and trainings for NGOs, government agencies, and donors. As an Advisor, she collaborates with Care To Action, in conceptualizing and strategizing development initiatives, creating linkages with key stakeholders, and providing strategic guidance to the Board and staff.
